hello [14 Nov 2007|06:54pm]
fattiegrrl
[ mood | hopeful ]

Hello to all. I am a newbie so I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself to the group.

I am a total fattie and I am getting really fed up with my weight. It just keeps going up and up and up. I don't even know how much I weigh right now because I literally cannot weigh myself without feeling damn near suicidal.

One thing I know for sure is I've got to get this weight off. My dad just recently died of complications due to obesity...and I just cannot do that to myself.

So anyway, in an effort to help myself I have started a weight-loss journal and I am determined to stick to it. I welcome anyone here to check it out and make comments/suggestions and such.

I really need to feel like a part of a community - to feel that I am not alone - to be able to do this. That is why I've joined this group. I am really looking forward to posting on a regular basis and reading about everyone else's weight-related issues.

I am also looking for a weight-loss buddy...someone else who is very determined and serious about losing weight (in a healthy way) who I can chat with, share progress, suggestions, disappointments, and so forth. Any takers?

Hi,

My name is Emma...
I'm from the London...
Lowest weight: 133lb
Highest weight: 189lb
Current weight: 154lb
Goal weight: 133lb or lower

I have used the weight watchers system for the past four years and lost 57lbs in 18mths but I am now finding that it isn't working (hasn't worked for the past year or so hence I've gained) I am at a loss as what to do. I know what I am doing wrong but fixing it is a problem. I have a very physically active job but don't excercise outside of work because I am so exhausted at the end of the day plus I think I get enough at work (I'm a nanny who works 13hrs a day, looking after two boys and who doesn't drive). I am living with people who aren't conscious of their weight and don't particularly eat healthily (yes they are overweight and I feel comparitively slim compared to them). I have always had a healthy diet but I lack motivation and WILL POWER. Portion control is hard for me too. I need to buy a scale so that I can start weighing out portions again... I DO NOT want to become heavy again and I can feel it creeping back on. People keep telling me that I will lose it again but I really don't believe them! I worked so damn hard to get it off in the first place and now I can feel it slipping away...

Hello, I'm new. I'm 23, 5'8 1/2 and I weigh 164lbs. It's the heaviest I've ever been. I'm up to a size 12 in jeans witch are starting to get tight. I just checked my BMI and it's at 24.9 witch is border lining being overweight. I've been under alot of stress, my father was in the hospital dying of cancer. I've tried eating less it just leaves me hungry and it hurts. I switched from regular soda to diet, and nothing happened. So I gave it up all together and lost 5lbs. But in July out of stress and frustration I quit my diet and starting drinking soda again I gained 14lbs. I've cut back on soda now. Its hard to not drink it. I mostly just drink water lately. I just want to get back into a 7/8 and be 134-136lbs. HELP?!?

I lost 2.2lbs this week. I am discovering bones like my elbow and my collar bone. I can now fit in a size 10 dress, that is exciting, I haven't been this thin in years. 2lbs away from 50lbs. So close to my goal weight it feels so believable. I must behave this week and be really physical to push that 2lbs to reach 50 lbs.

[ mood | nervous ]

weigh in today. I am nervous. I had a hard week with stress and long days. Not always having the time to count points or not knowing how to count some of the food I was eating. Couldn't always get my water and veggie intake in this week either. Oh well, I guess I will go and just better next week.

x-posted.

Edit: I gained 0.2lbs this week, so I did alright.

Hi,
I am a new member, I am looking for others to for support on my weight loss. I am using Weight watchers and I am finding that it is working for me. I am using the points system if anyone knows anything about it. So far since the beginning of January I have lost 25 lbs, I have about 32 more to go. I am 5'2" and currently 169lbs and 35 years old. I have set my goal weight for 137 lbs and we will see where I end up from there. I am loving the weight watchers program because I am learning how to eat properly. I am looking forward to hear everyone's good days and everyone's bad days.

Helloooo to everyone who joined us at NYC's Fat Girl Flea Market last weekend!

It seems that everywhere we look, there are gorgeous fatties proudly displaying the clothes they scored at this year's Flea. What a thrill to watch a 17-foot truck filled with clothing donations magically transformed into new wardrobes for hundreds of plump, happy shoppers!

This year's Flea was a fantastic success! Not only was a rollicking good time had by all, but we raised over $7000 for NOLOSE, most of which will go toward scholarships for the NOLOSE conference this fall. Yay!

We are intensely grateful to our ever-expanding community. You folks shopped nearly til you dropped! Many of you even came back for more the next day! Oh, we love you, Flea Market Shoppers! Without you we'd be nothing.

Thank you, from the very bottom of our hearts!
Flea Market Fairy Dust to All!
